Ian's JournalThere's always time for Wii! October 04 Hot Dogs.No.. I'm not about to break into a Saturday Night Live Harry Caray skit, (pop culture whores out there should understand.)
Here are a few definitions of hot dogs.
Of course... The definition I have in mind is far more harrowing.
This is what I mean.
Imagine you're sitting at a cafe, or outside somewhere, drinking up, shooting the breeze and generally kicking back. It's a glorious summer day and all the girls have come out from hiding. By this I mean short summer skirts, singlet tops, what have you (My inspiration for this is today, a day at laTrobe University where summer clothing reigns supreme. :D)
Okay.. Back to it... This is what you see from far away. Legs to the floor, some kind of european booty, long brown or blonde hair.
And as she gets closer....
AAAAARRRGGGHHH!!! It's AzNGuRL_12_kisses_pikachu_kekeke_(Peace sign)!!!
Attention all Asian chicks: WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO FOOL? LAY OFF THE PEROXIDE!
September 30 Stupid TV PromosOkay... so here's my first rant in quite a while, which basically means I have many stored up and ready to release in every-day increments.
Today, I'd like to talk about the stupidity of TV Promos. Let's concentrate on one in particular.
Many of you may have heard about the new series on Channel 10 called 'Jericho'.
Citing the ever useful wiki Answers.com:
Thirty-two year old Jake Green (Skeet Ulrich) plans a brief return to his childhood home in rural and isolated Jericho, Kansas, During Jake's exit from town, the electronic equipment in and around Jericho begins to fail. At the same time, a mysterious, possibly nuclear explosion occurs to the west (presumably at Denver, Colorado), and a mushroom cloud suddenly becomes visible above the Rocky Mountains. Distracted by the explosion, Jake is involved in a car accident, and is forced to walk back to Jericho. As he returns to the town, evening falls - and news spreads that a second explosion has occurred in Atlanta, Georgia. With communications and power out, Jake and the small town of Jericho face the challenge of being physically and psychologically isolated from the outside world - not knowing what is left of that world, or how many others are still alive - and of finding a means of survival in the midst of panic and chaos.
Okay. So it's a drama series about a nuclear bomb, and the eventual fallout.
Here's where my rant comes in. Channel Ten has used the talents of whiny band 'Evermore' to supply the background music. Specifically, the song 'Light Surrounding You'
WHICH FUCKNUT DECIDED THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA?
I swear to God, it's like a retarded exec at Channel 10 said.. ooh it's a song about light... and ooh.. big explosion, light.. That'll work! Yay!
To the many non-Evermore fans out there I salute each and every one of you for refusing to listen to this whiny drivel that makes a chorus out of one verb. (Running) Or more aptly, as they sau it in the chorus (RUN - NEN!). Also, I'd like to point out some words from the song 'Light Surrounds You.' Picture them in your head, and relate them to the plot of Jericho. I've added my own comments in brackets.
That I see the light surrounding you (A Mega-Fucking Huge Nuclear Explosion) (Wait, What?)
What you're turning into? Like. Chernobyll wise? Turning into what? Should the characters not be afraid of sprouting extra limbs? Severe brain damage? Gruesome genetic mutation? Or, more realistically, the simple idea of death?
Bravo, Channel 10. Way to pick appropriate songs.
And that's my rant.
- Peace Out September 29 All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go....So here I am. Back home again. God it's been 3 months with Bec, and here I sit, by myself in front of the computer. Right now she'd probably be at the airport, or at least getting ready to pick her parents up. We spent quite a bit of today cleaning the house some more, and removing all traces of me being there. It was quite an experience, and still very saddening now that I think about it. My own bed waits for me, with noone in it to hug as night turns to morning. I think I'm going to be sad for a very long time.
So I'm back.
And I'm missing her like hell.
-Peace out. September 20 Lights! Camera!..... Uh.. Lights? ........ LIGHTS?!??!?Apologies for the lack of entry last night. It was due in part to a power outage in North Fizroy that robbed me of my waking state and sent me into dreamland a little earlier than usual. Right now I'm sitting in the library at LaTrobe University, pondering what I can do to pass the time between now and 2pm, which is when my next lecture is. Bec is at work, in the Christmas department, possibly bored out of her wits.
I miss playing Dragon Quest, a game I bought (borrowed) from EB Games, and the first RPG I'd played in quite a while. See, I was only playing it till Dead Rising for the 360 came out. Little did I know that when it did, I wouldn't even get a chance to play it. Play it how it was intended, that is. In this ever growing age of digital upgrades, the makers of Dead Rising seem to have made it with HD TV sets in mind as the systems to play it on. Needless to say, the standard definition of Bec's TV made it impossible to read the words on the screen, which annoyed me no end as it was one of those games where you have to pay attention to the text.
So anyway, now I'm really thinking about buying a HD TV, of course, with my situation at Myer being in constant limbo, and the ever looming release date of the Wii, (which by the way, works fine on standard definition) it's hard for me to figure out where my money will go, not to mention whether I'll actually get some in the months to come. Apart from that, my only other worry is leaving Bec's house and going back home to live. I've sort of taken this time for granted, and as our 3 months living together come to a close, I can only imagine the withdrawal symptoms I'll suffer when I'm no longer able to see my baby 24/7.
Of course, for 16 of those hours, she's asleep anyway, but that's beside the point.
Yesterday was tiring. Bec and I drove to a location in Geelong where we did some reshoots of her class's short film. In a break between shooting, I found myself wandering through the streets of Geelong, and apart from the lack of Ethnic groups, I was surprised to see just how similar everything was. The church we shot at was located near a shopping district, replete with mall and street-front shops. Much to my delight, there was n EB Games store as well as a boost juice kiosk, so I sampled a bit of home away from home. It's like Starbucks. Follows you everywhere. The shoot was tiring, but ultimately successful, the long drive back from Geelong, and the requisite stops along the way to drop off equipment served to shorten my patience, but I tried to shake it off as we finally arrived home in time for some dinner and TV.
Of course, due to the power outage, we got dinner, but no TV.
Okay, so I'm off to start trolling the net's pages to see if there's any news on stuff I like.
Y'all take care now.
- Peace out. September 18 The boys are back in town...Just a quick update. I've been neglecting this thing for quite a while, no thanks in part to the lack of broadband and PC access the last 3 months. That's because I've been staying in North Fitzroy with Bec while her parents are away in Spain. It's amazing how much TV I managed to watch with no direct access to the net.
Consequently, I have gained a lot more material for some new rants, which means ou'll be seeing this space updated more often from now on.
So anyway, just finished a game of WarCraft III with the boys, having stayed in Lalor for most of tonight. We met and played pool at Q Room for a bit, before I returned to Adam's house to play against Rob, Eddie and Lam over the internet. Needless to say, I got my ass handed to me, I even got an award for best n00b. Yay!
Okay, I'm heading back home to Fitzroy now. Watch this space for more updates and rants, as well as the return of...
*drum roll*
COMICS!!
- Peace out.
July 20 "To those who made it, thanks for an awesome Fiesta! Ole!"Hey. Just a quick update to show the photos from my birthday. Hope you guys had fun, and if you weren't there, I hate you. go away. Now... Or something..
Hehe...
Cheers! April 29 Wii will rock you!Allow me a break from my usual ranting to share with you all the reason for my existence, as of this point.
Well. There are two reasons. One is
and the other is
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Nintendo's new console, it's fifth home console so far.
<From ign.com>
As in "we."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know what most of you are thinking. What a stupid name for a console. Okay, so it might seem a little weird at first, but so did yahoo, google, ipod and napster. But now they're all household names. Trust me people, don't judge a console by it's name.
Wii will rock you.
That is all. |
